The Process

Volunteers wanting to become an Athletics New Zealand Community Volunteer Member:

  • Click on “Registration” above and select the “Community Volunteer Membership” subscription
  • Go through and complete the online registration process.
  • The email receipt will include details of the next steps you are required to complete for your Community Volunteer Membership Application.

Coaches wanting to become an Athletics New Zealand Community Coach Member:

  • Click on “Registration” above and select the “Community Coach Membership” subscription
  • Go through and complete the online registration process.
  • The email receipt will include details of the next steps you are required to complete for your Community Coach Membership Application.

First time applicant coaches wanting to gain Athletics New Zealand Coach Accreditation:

  • Click on 'Registration' above and select the ‘I am a First Time Applicant for Athletics New Zealand Coach Accreditation’ subscription
  • Go through and complete the online registration process
  • You will then receive an email receipt confirming your subscription and letting you know what steps you are required to complete next to complete for your Accredited Coach Membership Application.

Coaches wanting to renew their Athletics New Zealand Coach Accreditation:

  • Click on 'Registration' above and select the ‘I wish to renew my Athletics New Zealand Coach Accreditation’ subscription
  • Confirm that all your details and information is correct and up to date
  • Re-confirm commitment to the Athletics NZ Code of Conduct
  • Declaration that since your original accreditation, you have not been charged or investigated for any crimes under the Crimes Act 1961

Update to Police Vetting

All information for Police Vetting is now captured through your online registration. Once registered you will receive an separate email asking you to make contact with someone locally to verify your identity – you must have your identity verified in order to complete your membership. This process is now completely paperless.

Update to Child Safety Education

In alignment with our organisation’s commitment to providing safe experiences for children, we have updated the education required by all new coaches as part of the registration process for Accredited and Community Coaches.

Please ensure you complete your registration which includes a page on child safety. Ongoing education will be delivered in regions regularly and you will be expected to attend some form of training at least once every 3 years. You may also choose to complete online training through Sport NZ or World Athletics and send us a copy of your certificate for verification.
